48 PORTLAND PLACE
48 Portland Place saw the redevelopment of basement, ground and first floor accommodation from office to state of the art apartments. In what has been described as one of the most historically significant buildings in central London, this was originally designed by the famous Adams brothers in Circa 1776. It currently has a Grade II listing and has typically refined and delicate Adamesque decoration – rectangular and circular panels decorated with reliefs or urns, gryphons and paterae, similarly enriched frieze and circular relief panel in the pediment.
Planning permission and subsequent discharge of conditions was, as would be expected , a particularly intensive process but once the finished product is seen, is all made worthwhile.
We were delighted to leave our mark on such a stunning building.
